Realizing the simplistic approach of how to get a six pack is something that I believe many miss.

We all have a decent set of abs.

Yes, all of us really do.

The problem is most people's six pack abs are covered up with a layer of body fat.

This is not a bad thing, according to our bodies, this is actually it's preferred state.

Your body's main concern is self preservation, and not looking great on the beach.

I ask this first because, quite frankly, most people don't.

Since not all of us are blessed with a Mesomorph build.

A Meso body type is one which is naturally muscular with a decent body fat level.

In fact I'd rather call it a food plan.

Or... a means of eating quality food at certain times, in the required amounts to achieve your goals.

A little more long winded... but I think you get what I'm saying.

In order to have a good understanding of how to approach reducing your calories to bring your body fat level down, I think it is a good idea to review the info on a proper weight lifting diet.

Consider this.

There is no such thing as spot loss.

You cannot lose belly fat fast on any one specific area of your body (without a surgeon, that is).  That's just not how your body works, unfortunately.

If you're trying to lose weight to build a six pack, then you're going to lose weight around your entire body, not just your stomach fat.  I believe this is why most people give up their quest for six pack abs.

Many times our bodies just don't want to give up that last bit of fat clinging to abs, making losing belly fat a difficult task.

After all, your body is only trying to save you from starving.

It has a built in safety protocol and senses when food intake is scarce.  We can thank evolution for this.

In a sense your body has a mind of it's own.

It doesn't know that dinosaurs are not chasing you anymore or that you are not in the middle of a famine.

So go easy on yourself and realize you'll have to make some adjustments to have your body take advantage of the free secrets on how to get a great six pack.

2. A weight lifting program specific to your level.

3. Cardio-vascular exercise to help keep your metabolism in full gear.
 

I believe in the longer route of slowly reducing calories by 250 to 500 kcals per day below your maintenance calorie intake... because in the end it is the quickest way to saving your hard earned muscle mass while reducing body fat.

It is also a healthier approach because you won't be shocking your system with huge calorie drops.

Remember, if you cut calories too quickly you might have to say goodbye to any muscular gains you may have already made.
